Virginia Holds Final Spring Scrimmage

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Tailback Thomas Jones rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Aaron Brooks threw for 139 yards and one touchdown Friday (April 10) to highlight the University of Virginia’s final spring football scrimmage at the Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium.
Jones carried the ball 10 times and scored on runs of 60 and two yards.
Brooks completed seven of 10 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown. He teamed with wide receiver Terrence Wilkins on a 60-yard touchdown pass play. The touchdown reception was one of three catches totaling 111 yards for Wilkins.
Quarterback Dan Ellis scored a touchdown on a four-yard run and David Greene kicked a 23-yard field goal.
Linebacker Wali Rainer was in on six tackles, including one for lost yardage, and he had a quarterback hurry to lead the defense. End Travis Griffith had two quarterback sacks for 20 yards in losses among his three tackles and also had a quarterback hurry.
