CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – UVa’s winter sports are now done , while the spring sports are under way. The year to date record is 220-122-7(65.9%).

OUTDOOR TRACK: Coach: Randy Bungard, third season at Virginia, record: no dual meets. 1998-99 record, no dual meets. Last week, UVa hosted the Milton Abramson Invitational(women first team; men second team). This week, UVa has the ACC Meet at Clemson(Fri.-Sat., Apr. 16-17, away).

MEN’S TENNIS: Coach: Dick Stockton, first season at Virginia: record: 10-7. 1998-99 record: 10-7. Last week, UVa played Maryland(7-0 won), VCU(4-3 loss), NC State( 4-3 loss), William & Mary(today),and Virginia Tech(tomorrow). This week, UVa plays William & Mary(today), Virginia Tech(tomorrow), Wake Forest(Sat., Apr. 17, 1:00 PM, away),and Duke(Sun., Apr. 18, 1:00 PM, away).

WOMEN’S TENNIS: Coach Phil Rogers, 17th season at Virginia, record: 186-159. 1998-99 record: 3-1(Fall) and 8-6(Spring). Last week, UVa played Maryland(6-3 loss ), Duke(8-1 loss), and North Carolina(7-2 won). This week, UVa plays Wake Forest(Sat., Apr. 17, 11:00 AM, Snyder Courts) and NC State (Sun, Apr. 18, 2;00 PM, Snyder Courts).

BASEBALL: Coach: Dennis Womack, 19th season at Virginia, record: 482-475-6. 1998-99 record, 15-23. Last week, UVa played Richmond(8-3 loss), VCU(12-1 won), Wake Forest( 11-2 loss, 14-8 loss. 5-4 loss), and Virginia Tech(tomorrow). This week, UVa plays Virginia Tech(tomorrow), North Carolina(Fri.-Sun., Apr. 16-18. 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 1:30 PM, away),and VCU(Tue., Apr. 20, 6:00 PM, away).

MEN’S GOLF: Coach: Mike Moraghan, tenth season at Virginia, record: no dual matches. 1998-99 record: no dual matches. Last week, UVa was idle. This week, UVa will attend the ACC Tournament(Fri.-Sun, Apr. 16-18, New London, NC).

SOFTBALL: Coach: Cheryl Sprangel, second season at Virginia, record: 62-48. 1998-99 record, 24-20. Last week, UVa played Hofstra(4-3 won, 4-3 won), Elon(4-1 won, 9-0 won ), Georgia Tech( 2-0 won, 6-4 won), and George Mason(tomorrow).
