TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Virginia scored three runs in the first inning to beat Georgia Tech 3-1 in game one of the Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Tournament at Lady Seminole Field. With the win, UVA improved to 36-26 while the Yellow Jackets fell to 23-31.

Virginia’s Lori Reese went 1-for-3 including a three-run double in the first inning to lead the Cavaliers as Georgia Tech’s Lauren Webb drove in the Lady Jackets’ solo run with a single in the sixth inning. On the mound, Stacey Zagol (17-12) earned the win for the Cavaliers with four strike outs and two walked batters. Erin Ryan (12-20) took the loss for the Yellow Jackets.
