WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – DeMya Walker scored 14 points, grabbed 11rebounds and blocked four shots as No. 19 Virginia beat Wake Forest 81-50Thursday night.

Monick Foote and Erin Stovall scored 15 apiece and Lisa Hosac added 11points for the Cavaliers (14-5, 7-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).

Virginia went on a 24-6 run in the first nine minutes of the second half totake a 64-32 lead and put the game out of reach.

The Cavaliers jumped out to a 11-4 lead, but Wake Forest rallied to within24-22 on two free throws by Alisha Mosley with 6:22 remaining in the firsthalf. Virginia responded with a 14-4 run to take a 40-26 halftime lead.

Val Klopfer led Wake Forest (6-13, 2-7) with 10 points.

The Demon Deacons shot poorly from the field for the fourth straight game.They made only 23 percent of their shots, including 4-of-23 from 3-point range.
