CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–Two of the nations top 75 seniors have signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Virginia next season. Schuye LaRue, (pronounced Sky) a 6-3 forward from Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. and Marcie Dickson, a 6-2 forward from Columbia High School in Maplewood, N.J. will play for head coach Debbie Ryan next season.

LaRue, rated number 18 in the Blue Star Top 100 Seniors Index, averaged 22 points and 15 rebounds per game for Archbishop Carroll High School. She led her AAU team, the Beltway Lady Cougars, to top-100 national finishes each of the last three years.

Dickson, rated the 74th-best high school senior in the country by Blue Star, led Columbia High School to the New Jersey Group 4 state championship last season.

The Cavaliers, who have held a weekly ranking in the polls every year since 1984, will graduate three seniors in 1999.
