ALMADA, Portugal — Chris Williams (Birmingham, Ala.) and Adam Hall (Katy, Texas) of the University of Virginia participated in the USA Men’s Junior World Championship Team’s 89-71 victory over Brazil Tuesday night (July 20) in quarterfinals play at the 1999 FIBA Men’s Junior World Championship in Almada, Portugal. The USA is now 5-0 in the tournament. Brazil is 3-2.

Williams, a 6-6 forward, scored five points and grabbed five rebounds in the victory. He made two of six shots from the field, including one of three three-point field goal attempts. Williams also had two blocked shots, one steal and four turnovers in 27 minutes of action.

Hall, a 6-5 guard/forward, played six minutes in the game. He had one rebound and one turnover.

Lance Williams scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the USA team, Steve Logan scored 17 points, Steve Lepore had 16 points and Keyon Dooling added 11 points.

The USA shot 51.7 percent (31-60) from the field and out-rebounded Brazil 40-22.

The USA team next plays Russia on Wednesday (July 21).
