Football Season Tickets Sell Out For Fourth Straight Year

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia has sold out of seasontickets for the 1999 football season and established a UVa football seasonticket sales record. Virginia sold 29,023 football season tickets for the1999 season, surpassing last year’s record sale of 26,185 season tickets.This marks the fourth consecutive year Virginia has established a recordfor football season ticket sales.
“Our fans have responded as we hoped they would to the expansion ofthe Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at ScottStadium,” said Dick Mathias, assistant director of athletics for ticketoffice management. “With over 11,000 additional quality seats becomingavailable for the 2000 season, we will be able to accommodate many new fansnext year.”
Season ticket wait list requests are currently being accepted forthe 2000 season.
Virginia had previously sold out of single game tickets for theVirginia Tech (Oct. 2), Florida State (Oct. 30) and Georgia Tech (Nov. 6)games this fall. A very limited number of tickets remain for UVa’s homegames with Wake Forest (Sept. 18) and Duke (Oct. 9). Tickets also remainfor the Cavaliers’ final home game of the 1999 season against Buffalo (Nov.13).
