BOSTON — The University of Virginia women’s tennis team had all three ofits players lose their second round singles matches at the 1999 ITA EastRegion Tennis Championships on Saturday evening at Harvard University.Third year Leslie Cook (Boynton Beach, Fla./Lake Worth Christian), secondyear Amy O’Donnell (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) and first year Henriette Williams(Millburn, N.J./Millburn) each lost their matches in straight sets.

Cook lost to Marshall’s Anna Mitina 6-0, 6-2 after defeating Sheri Puppo ofJames Madison 6-2, 6-3 in the opening round on Saturday morning. O’Donnellfell to Harvard’s Sanaz Ghazal 6-2, 6-1, while Williams dropped a 6-2, 6-3decision to Boston College’s Kiren Fernando. O’Donnell and Williams bothreceived first round byes.

The 1999 ITA East Region Tennis Championships are being held at HarvardUniversity and will run through Tuesday, November 9.
