CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The University of Virginia men’s basketball team plays the second and final exhibition game of its preseason practice period on Wednesday (Nov. 10) when the Nantucket Nectars Naturals visit University Hall. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Cavaliers defeated the Down Under Bandits 97-67 in their first exhibition game last Thursday (Nov. 4) at University Hall. All 14 players in uniform for Virginia that night saw action and 11 players played at least 10 minutes in the game.

Junior guard Donald Hand (Paterson, N.J.) led Virginia in scoring with 16 points, while sophomore guard/forward Adam Hall (Katy, Texas) scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Sophomore forward Chris Williams (Birmingham, Ala.) scored 11 points, had six assists, five rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot, and junior guard Keith Friel (Durham, N.H.) also scored 11 points. Junior center Colin Ducharme (Richmond, Va.) led the Cavaliers with 14 rebounds and five blocked shots, and also scored four points.

Virginia opens its 1999-2000 regular season on November 19 at University Hall against Elon College.
