Virginia Cheerleaders Invited To Prestigious National Competition

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.?University of Virginia Cheerleading Coach Kelley Carter announced that the Cavalier cheerleading squad placed first in its division and will compete in the Universal Cheerleaders Association College Championships on Jan. 6-9, 2000 at Disney World and MGM Studios in Orlando, Fla.

The Cavalier squad placed first in the Small Coed Division. This classification groups all schools that have fewer male cheerleaders than female cheerleaders. Fifteen other schools in this division were invited to compete.

This is the first time the Cavaliers have been invited to the UCA/UDA College Championship which is the largest and most prestigious college cheerleading and dance team championship in the United States.
