CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Cavalier Sports Marketing General Manager RichKlein announced Wednesday (Nov. 17) that WPLC Radio, “The Pulse, 94.3FM”in Manassas, Va., has agreed to carry University of Virginia men’sbasketball games during the 1999-2000 season. The station is currentlycarrying Virginia football broadcasts in its first year with theVirginiaSports Network.

“We are thrilled the management of WPLC is continuing itsassociation with the Cavaliers,” Klein said. “The station has aterrificsignal and is a very positive addition to our already strong list ofaffiliates.”

WPLC General Manager Syd Abel feels the association is a goodone.

“We are delighted to continue carrying the Virginia games,” Abelsaid. “We understand how important the Northern Virginia area is to theUniversity of Virginia and we share in its commitment to provide fansandalumni this type of quality programming. Our association with VirginiaandCavalier Sports Marketing has been very positive for us and ourstation’smission in the marketplace.”

The Virginia men’s basketball team opens its 1999-2000 season onFriday, Nov. 19, at home against Elon College. The game is scheduled tobegin at 7:30 p.m.
