CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. — Cavalier Jessica Coleman (Oceanport,N.J./Shore Regional) was named to the third-team All-American squad todayas announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association. It is thefirst time that she has been so honored.

Coleman led the Cavaliers in scoring in 1999 with 22 goals and 10assists. She became just the third player in school history to recorddouble-digit scoring in both goals and assists in a single season. Her 54points ranks second all-time as a second-year and it is the fourth-highesttotal for a season in school history.

Coleman’s 22 goals ranks secondall-time as a sophomore and her 10 assists places her fifth as asecond-year. Her 22 goals also ranks as sixth-best all-time on the Cavaliercharts for a single season and ranks in the top-10 in the nation forscoring. Coleman was also named to the All-ACC team this season and to thefirst team South Regional team.
