Hall Helps UVa Walk Away From Richmond With Win

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Adam Hall scored five of his season-high 23 pointsduring a 9-0 Virginia run midway through the second half Tuesday, helping theCavaliers pull ahead for a 69-65 victory over Richmond.
The Spiders (4-5) led 55-47 with 10:24 remaining following a 3-pointer byKinte Smith. Virginia scored the next nine points in the game to take a 56-55lead with 6:50 remaining on Hall’s 3-point play.
Richmond took its final lead on two free throws by Charles Stephens with6:29 remaining. But Chris Williams’ layup with six minutes to play gave theCavaliers (7-3) a 58-57 lead which they never lost.
Virginia’s defense held Richmond to 10 points over the final 10:24.
Williams had 14 points, Travis Watson had 10 points and 12 rebounds andRoger Mason added 10 points for the Cavaliers.
Greg Stephenson led Richmond with 22 points.
