Virginia's Julia Richardson Named ACC Player Of The Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The University of Virginia’s Julia Richardson(Atlanta, GA/Stone Ridge (MD)) was named the ACC Player of the Week for herefforts against Massachusetts and Quinnipiac this weekend. The Cavaliersweeper, starting in her first career games, was instrumental in Virginia’stwo victories in the 1999 campaign thus far.
Richardson marshalled a defense that allowed only one goal on theweekend to make them the top scoring defense in the conference.
This is the first such honor for Richardson and the first time aCavalier has been honored in the 1999-2000 campaign.
Virginia hosts a pair of games this weekend as the MichiganWolverines come to town on Friday, Sept. 10 with a game at 4:00. TheCavaliers play Towson on Sunday, Sept. 12. Game time against the Tigers is1:00 pm.
