Men's Hoops Flies Past Dartmouth, 89-50

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) – Chris Williams scored 24 points Sunday andVirginia made 19 points on turnovers as the Cavaliers defeated Dartmouth 89-50.
Williams hit 11 of 15 field goal attempts and Keith Friel added 14 points on5-for-6 shooting for the Cavaliers (9-3). Willie Dersch added 12 points andDonald Hand had 11 points and five assists.
The Cavaliers shot 65 percent from the floor in the first half and led by 14at the break. Dartmouth (4-7) was able to shoot only 27 percent afterintermission, making only nine of 33 field goal attempts in the final 20minutes.
Shaun Gee, the only Dartmouth player to reach double figures, scored 16points.
