CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 25 Virginia faces Wake Forest in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup on Thursday night.

The Cavaliers (14-5, 6-1) entered the Top 25 poll for the first time thisseason after a 10-game winning streak but lost to Kent 85-74 on Monday.Virginia committed 20 turnovers and was outrebounded 38-26.

Schuye LaRue scored 19 points and Svetlana Volnaya and Telisha Quarles added18 apiece for the Cavaliers.

Wake Forest (6-12, 2-5), which has dropped two straight games, will belooking for only its second victory in 45 games against Virginia. On Monday,the Demon Deacons lost 66-55 at Clemson after matching the Tigers in reboundingand sinking eight 3-pointers in the game. But the Demon Deacons committed 18fouls and had 19 turnovers.

Junior guard Janae Whiteside led the Demon Deacons with a season-high 18points, including four second-half three-pointers. Senior guard Alisha Mosleyrecorded the first double-double of her career, netting 14 points and acareer-high 10 rebounds. Sophomore center LaChina Robinson also grabbed 10rebounds for Wake Forest, which lost two in a row.

Virginia, which is undefeated in 20 trips to Wake Forest, won the lastmeeting 81-50 at home. The series began in the 1975-76 season.
