The Cavalier women swept the top five places today at the George Washington University Invitational en route to taking the team trophy by a 61-point margin over James Madison. Sarah Folse (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) led the charge for the Hoos, winning the race in a time of 17:44.9. Dana Coons (Vienna, Va./James Madison), Jessica Thomas (Pt. Pleasant, N.J./Pt. Pleasant Borough), and Ellen Dwyer (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) finished in close succession, and Dawn Cleary (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) held off Ruth Chege of Seton Hall to complete the sweep. Virginia’s Megan Schwartz (Morristown, N.J. /Morristown) took seventh.

On the men’s side, Bobby Thiele (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) by a 14-second margin over Brian Godsey of Miami. Matt Ruhl (Somerdale, N.J. /Triton Regional) finished third for the Cavaliers, who took second with 46 points behind Miami’s 36 points. Ryan Webb (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) was also a top-ten finisher for Virginia with his eighth-place mark.
