The University of Virginia men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off their season with Hoos in the Hall , Virginia’s version of Midnight Madness. The event will take place Friday, October 27, at University Hall. Doors open at 10:30 pm and activities begin at 11:00 pm. Activities include a student slam-dunk contest, step show, dance routines, comedy routine, paper airplane contest and a Biltmore Grill fingers and toes eating contest. The grand prize is a spring break vacation courtesy of the University Student Travel Agency. Additional prizes will be provided by the Biltmore Grill, O’Neill’s, Trax, Plan 9, Reebok, and Domino’s Pizza. The first 500 people receive a free Hoos in the Hall t-shirt. Virginia men’s and women’s basketball teams will take the floor at midnight with Head Coaches Pete Gillen and Debbie Ryan addressing the fans at the end of the program. Activities after midnight include a dunk contest between players, a three-point shooting contest, and a drawing for a Wintergreen vacation for two. The event is free and open to the public.
