UVa's Montgomery Falls in Second Round at Rolex National Indoors

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Fourth-year University of Virginia men’s tennis player Huntley Montgomery (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) was eliminated from the singles draw of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships by defending NCAA champion Alex Kim of Stanford, 6-4, 7-5, Friday (Feb. 2).
The Cavaliers’ Brian Vahaly (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School), who fell to the tournament’s No. 4 seed, Oskar Johansson from Arkansas, 6-0, 6-2, in the first round of singles, won a consolation match Friday (Feb. 2) over Mike Halperin from Cornell. Vahaly beat Halperin, 6-2, 6-4.
Vahaly and Montgomery are scheduled to play a consolation doubles match Friday night (Feb. 2).
