FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Fourth-year University of Virginia men’s tennis player Brian Vahaly (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School) lost in the consolation semifinals of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships Saturday (Feb. 3). Vahaly fell to Jean-Julien Roger from UCLA, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Meanwhile, Vahaly and Huntley Montgomery (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) lost in the doubles consolation draw to UCLA’s Roger and Jean-Noel Grinda, 6-1, 6-2 Friday night (Feb. 2). Montgomery lost in the second round of the singles main draw to defending NCAA champion Alex Kim from Stanford on Friday (Feb. 2).

The UVa men’s tennis team kicks off its spring season in two weeks when the Cavaliers visit Old Dominion on Saturday, February 17.
