Virginia`s Jimi Massey and North Carolina's JohnMark Bentley Named ACC Wrestler of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia wrestler Jimi Massey (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) was named the Atlantic Coact Conference Wrestler of the Week after finishing 2-0 in dual matches with the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Old Dominion Monarchs.
Massey, a junior wrestling at 184 lbs., posted an 11-6 decision over North Carolina’s Nick Richmond (Feb. 3) and a 7-6 victory over Old Dominion’s Matt Small (Feb. 4). UVa lost to UNC 24-12, but defeated ODU 24-12.
For the season, Massey stands at 15-6 overall, 9-1 in dual matches. He is a perfect 3-0 in the ACC. Three of his 15 victories have come by major decision and one of his wins was by fall. For his career, Massey is 31-30 overall, 14-8 in dual matches.
Massey shared this weeks honor with North Carolina’s JohnMark Bentley, who went 1-0 at 149 lbs. Massey joins P.J. Bory (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) as the second member of the UVa wrestling team to gather the ACC Wrestler of the Week honor. Bory was recognized on January 22nd.
