Two Cavaliers Named to IWLCA All-Academic Squad

Fromal, who was a repeat selection to the IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association) first-team All-American squad this season, led the team in ground balls for the second consecutive year while ranking second on the team in scoring with 50 points. She led the team in goals with 38 and ranked second on the team with 32 caused turnovers. A member of the USA National Developmental Team, she was named Virginia’s ACC Scholar-Athlete for the 1999-2000 academic year.
Fromal is a three-time All-ACC selection as well who started every game in which she played during her Virginia career. Her 77 games played and started ranks second all-time at UVA and she also ranks second in caused turnovers with 96 in her three years. She was named the Warrior/InsideLacrosse National Player of the Week on May 1 after leading the Cavaliers to a pair of wins over nationally-ranked Loyola and Vanderbilt. She was also named to the InsideLacrosse Dream Team for 2000 as well as the College Lacrosse USA All-American team. Fromal graduated from Virginia on May 21 with a BS in Biochemistry. She will attend medical school at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
DeCarlo started each of the Cavaliers’ game this season in line defense and was a crucial part of the Hoos’ presence in the top-ten defensive effort this season.
