GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia’s Roger Mason, Jr., and Duke’s ChrisDuhon were selected as the ACC Player and Rookie of the Week,respectively, in voting by a select panel of the Atlantic CoastConference Sportswriters Association (ACSWA).

Mason, a 6-5, 201-pound sophomore from Silver Spring, Md.,scored 39 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Virginia’s victories overthird-ranked Duke and Florida State last week. In the two games, Masonmade 13-of-25 from the field, including six-of-eight from three-pointrange, and made all seven of his free throw attempts in the two games.In addition he handed out seven assists and blocked one shot in the twogames.

In Virginia’s 91-89 victory over third-ranked Duke at UniversityHall on February 14, Mason scored 20 points and tied his career highwith seven rebounds. In the Cavaliers’ 69-66 win at Florida StateSaturday, Mason’s three-point basket with one second remaining in thegame provided the Cavaliers with their margin of victory. He scored ateam-high 19 points in the game and had four rebounds.

Duhon, a 6-1, 186-pound freshman from Slidell, La., averaged17.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in Duke’s two games last week.Duhon started the week scoring a career-high 20 points on seven-of-eightshooting, including five-of-six from three-point range at 11th-rankedVirginia Wednesday. Duhon followed that up with the third-bestoffensive performance of his career scoring 15 points in a 91-59 winover St. John’s Sunday. On the week, he shot a blistering .692 fromthree-point range and .667 overall from the field
