Raleigh, NC – Brian Kollar (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) won his second javelin title of the season as he won the gold at the Raleigh Relays today, throwing the javelin 72.72m. His teammate John Welch (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) took the bronze, tossing a 66.00m while Cavalier James Murdock (Ridgewood, N.J./RIdgewood) took 8th with a 58.08m. Dawn Cleary (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) set the Cavalier record in the steeplechase with a time of 10:46.67, good enough for third in the meet today.

On the women’s side, Kiamesha Otey (Quinton, Va./New Kent) was the highest finisher with her runner-up placement in the 100m (11.87). Eliese Mitchell (Narvon, Pa./Garden Spot) also placed, taking sixth in the hammer (51.35m). Inge Jorgensen (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) finished fifth in the javelin with a toss of 48.95m. Hillary Wilson (East Clarindon, Ohio/Hawken-Manchester) led a 3-4 finish in the discus with a 47.74 and Mitchell right behind her with a toss of 47.48.

Other Cavaliers on the men’s team who placed in the top six were Sam Jackson (Kingwood, Tex./Kingwood) in the steeplechase (4th, 9:14.45) and Bill Johnston (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) who took 6th in the hammer (57.20).
