CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The # 73 University of Virginia women’s tennis lost an Atlantic Coast Conference match, 6-1, to #13 North Carolina on Saturday (April 7) in Chapel Hill, N.C. Virginia falls to 13-6 overall on the season and is now 2-2 in the ACC.

North Carolina (11-5, 2-2) won the doubles point by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Tar Heels then proceeded to win five of six singles matches to seal the 6-1 victory. Laura James (Fairfax, Va./Centerville) was the only Virginia player to win her singles match. She defeated Kendrick Bunn, 7-6, 2-1, Ret

The Cavaliers take a short trip to Durham, N.C. tomorrow to face #2 Duke in another ACC matchup. UVa is 3-34 all time against the Blue Devils. Match time tomorrow is set for noon.
