TEMPE, AZ – The University of Virginia men’s golf team is tied for 13th at the Thunderbird Invitational at the Karsten Course in Tempe, Arizona. The Cavaliers are tied for 13th in the 22-team field with a six-over-par 582 (290-292). Texas is currently leading the tournament with a 22-under-par 554 (284-270), followed by Southern California (283-276-559) and Houston (283-276-559).

Kevin Stadler of Southern California is currently in first place with a nine-under-par 135 (68-67). Leading the way for Virginia is junior Steve Marino, who is tied for ninth with a score of four-under-par 140 (71-69). Freshman Rusty Kennedy is tied for 42nd with a two-round score of 144 (71-73). Senior Cameron Yancey is tied for 78th with a score of 148 (75-73). Rounding out the Virginia players are freshman Kevin O’Connell (73-77-150) and senior Mike Mitchell (84-81-165).
