CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – For the second time this season, University of Virginia baseball player Brandon Creswell (Newport News, Va./Menchville) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week after his instrumental role in leading UVa to a 7-4 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies (April 11th) and a 5-2 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels (April 15th). He was also named the ACC Pitcher of the Week on April 2nd.

Creswell, a fourth-year left handed pitcher, allowed only one earned run and posted 10 strikeouts through 14 innings combine in both contests. Against Virginia Tech, Creswell pitched 5.0 innings and allowed no runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Against North Carolina, he allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits with six strikeouts and pitched a complete game.

For the season, Creswell stands 6-2 overall as a pitcher and has an ERA of 3.41. He has started all 10 games he has appeared in and has recorded team-highs with 71.1 innings pitched, 55 strikeouts and three complete games. Creswell is holding opposing batters to a .286 batting average.

Wake Forest’s Cory Sullivan was named the ACC Player of the Week.
