CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team defends its Atlantic Coast Conference Rowing Championship on Saturday (March 28) in Clemson, S.C., at the second ACC Women’s Rowing Championships. The Cavaliers won all four events last year in winning the first ACC Women’s Rowing Championship held at Lake Monticello, Va.

The competition begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the second varsity four. The first varsity four competition is scheduled to begin at 9:20 a.m. with the second varsity eight (9:40 a.m.) and the first varsity eight (10:00 a.m.) to follow. Saturday’s championships will be held on Lake Hartwell.

“This is obviously an important competition for our team,” UVa head coach Kevin Sauer said. “We want to defend our ACC Championship, but this competition will also go a long way toward determining an NCAA invitation for us and other teams in the conference.”

Virginia’s first varsity eight is currently ranked ninth in the nation.
