Randy Bungard, the head men’s outdoor track and field coach, was named ACC coach of the year. Bungard is the first Virginia track and field coach to garner this honor since 1984. Under his direction, the Cavaliers improved from an eighth place finish in the ACC last year to a third place finish in the ACC this year. The Cavaliers third place finish in the ACC is the team’s highest finish since 1984. This season, Bungard coached eight Cavaliers to All-ACC honors and one ACC Champion, Brian Kollar in the Javelin.
