Virginia Baseball Player Brandon Creswell Named The Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Pitcher Of The Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – For the third time this season, University of Virginia baseball player Brandon Creswell (Newport News, Va./Menchville) was honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference for his outstanding pitching performance. This time, Creswell was named the ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week after his instrumental role in leading UVa to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Miami Hurricanes (April 27th). He shared the honor with North Carolina’s Scott Autry. Creswell was also named the ACC Pitcher of the Week on April 16th and April 2nd.
Creswell, a fourth-year left handed pitcher, pitched a complete game shutout against Miami after going 9.0 innings and allowing no runs on just four hits while striking out a game-high nine batters. It was the first time the Miami Hurricanes were shutout at home since a 4-0 loss to Texas A&M back on May 29, 1995 in the NCAA Regionals.
For the season, Creswell stands 7-2 overall as a pitcher and has an ERA of 3.21. He has pitched four complete games this season and has out shutout. Creswell has recorded a team-high 67 strikeouts through 87 innings of action and is holding opposing batters to a .279 batting average.
