Virginia's Golf Team Finishes Second At The Cavalier Classic

The University of Virginia’s golf team placed second as the Cavaliers finished with an 11-over-par 587 at the Cavalier Classic at the Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va. East Tennessee State won the 36-hole tournament with a six-over-par 582 on the par 72, 6,875-yard course. Florida State was third with a 16-over-par 592, and the University of North Carolina finished one stroke behind with a 17-over-par 593.
Mark Donaldson of Florida State entered the final day of competition one stroke behind Chris Wisler of East Tennessee, and shot a one-under-par 71 to win the individual title. Donaldson finished with a two-day total of three-under-par 141 (70-71). Wisler (69-74) tied with teammate James Johnson (70-73) and Virginia’s Cameron Yancey (71-72) for second place with a one-under-par 143.
