TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Virginia volleyball team lost to Florida State 3-0 (30-21, 30-26, 30-15) Sunday afternoon (September 30) at Tully Gym. With the loss, the Cavaliers fall to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Florida State improves to 3-7 overall and 2-2 in the ACC.

Second-year outside hitter Paige Davis (Austin, Texas/Westlake) led Virginia with 12 kills, while fourth-year outside hitter Jenny Harmon (Virginia Beach, Va./Salem) added 10 kills and a team-high six digs. First-year setter Lily Phillips (Phoenix, Ariz./Horizon) posted 29 assists and equaled Harmon for the team high with six digs.

Four Florida State players recorded 12 kills apiece. Alex Sevillano was one of two players to register double-doubles as she posted 14 digs along with 12 kills. Erica Bunch notched 12 kills and 12 digs. Kristin Frye and Norisha Campbell both had 12 kills. Campbell hit an impressive .647 in the match, while Frye was right behind with a .611 hitting percentage. Jennifer Anderson dished out 45 assists for the Seminoles.

As a team, Florida State hit an impressive .392 in the match, while the Cavaliers were only able to hit .144. The Seminoles also held a 45-27 edge in digs.

The Cavaliers return to action on Friday, October 5 when they host Wake Forest at 7:00 p.m. in University Hall.
