University of Virginia head volleyball coach Melissa Aldrich Shelton has announced the signing of Kristin Chaney (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Virginia and play volleyball for the Cavaliers beginning in the 2002-2003 academic year.
Kristin Chaney is a 6-0 middle blocker who was a four-year starter for Johnston High School. She was a first-team All-Conference and All-District performer as a junior and senior. Chaney was also an All-State selection the same two seasons.
