GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia women’s basketball player Brandi Teamer (Joliet, Ill.) earned Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors, the ACC announced on Monday.

A starter in all 16 contests, Teamer recorded three double-doubles in three ACC games on the week. Against Clemson, she had her fifth career double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. She also scored her first trey against the Lady Tigers. At Georgia Tech, Teamer paced the squad with her sixth double-double of 22 points and 10 boards. In Sunday’s win over Wake Forest, Teamer led UVa with her seventh double-double of 17 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. The win was the 600th all-time in school history.

On the week, Teamer notched 61 points, 35 rebounds, six assists, five blocks, and four steals. She also shot 25-51 (.490) from the field.

After 16 games, Teamer stands second in team scoring with 14.8 ppg, while leading the team in rebounding with 9.1 rpg. In ACC games only, she is the team leader with 18.8 ppg and 9.8 rpg.

The ACC honor is the third of Teamer’s collegiate career.

The Cavaliers (9-7, 2-3) travel to Maryland on Thursday, Jan. 17 for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Virginia Sports Radio Network will broadcast the game live.
