GREENSBORO, N.C – Virginia women’s basketball player Brandi Teamer (Joliet, Ill.) earned Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors, the ACC announced on Monday.

A starter in all 18 contests, Teamer recorded back-to-back double-doubles in two ACC road games on the week. At Maryland on Thursday, she recorded her eighth career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. At No. 6 Duke on Sunday, Teamer netted her ninth career double-double with a game-high 20 points and 10 boards. The contest was the fifth straight game in which Teamer has notched a double-double.

On the week, Teamer totaled 30 points and 20 rebounds. She leads the ACC in double-double performances with nine.

After 18 games, Teamer stands second in team scoring with 14.8 ppg, while leading the team in rebounding with 9.2 rpg. In ACC games only, she is the team leader with 17.7 ppg and 9.9 rpg.

The ACC honor is the fourth of Teamer’s collegiate career.

The Cavaliers (10-8, 3-4) host Florida State (11-7, 2-5) on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at University Hall. Charlottesville’s WINA Radio (1070 AM) will broadcast the game live.
