CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia Athletic Department is planning a weekend-long celebration honoring women’s basketball coach Debbie Ryan, who is in the midst of her 25th season as the Cavaliers’ mentor.

Kicking off the weekend on Saturday, Feb. 16, fans are invited to an Open Practice at 9:45 a.m. At 11:15 a.m., fans will be treated to an Alumnae Game.

On Sunday, Feb. 17, the Athletic Department will have a Silver Anniversary Celebration for Ryan, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tip-off between the Cavaliers and Maryland is slated for 1 p.m. on Fox Sports Net South and the Sunshine Network.

All events are at University Hall.

The architect of the Cavalier program since the 1978 season, Ryan has posted a 557-207 record. The seven-time ACC Coach of the Year has guided the Cavaliers to 18 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and 11 ACC championship titles.
