CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team will honor its Senior Class during a pregame ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 21. Tipoff for the Cavaliers’ home finale with No. 19/20 North Carolina is set for 7:30 p.m. at University Hall.

Playing in their final home game are forward Kathy Allen (Green Lane, Pa.), guard Karen Jaeger (Midlothian, Va.), and guard Telisha Quarles (Louisa, Va.).

Allen served as the Cavaliers’ manager for three seasons prior to donning a uniform this season. Jaeger was added to the squad after an open tryout.

Quarles became the 20th Cavalier to notch 1,000 career points. In her tenure, the Virginia native has been a part of three consecutive NCAA Tournament berths and the 2000 ACC regular-season championship while compiling a 78-42 (.650) record. Individually, Quarles has earned ACC Player of the Week honors three times and twice set the school record three pointers made in a season with 63.

In honor of Fan Appreciation Day, sponsored by Virginia Energy Choice, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free t-shirt, courtesy of State Farm, Virginia Lottery and Hardee’s.

Virginia (15-10, 8-6 ACC) is third in the ACC standings with two games remaining. The youthful Cavaliers, under the guidance of 25th-year head coach Debbie Ryan, were picked to finish eighth in preseason balloting.
