UVa Women's Rowing Team Opens Spring Season Against San Diego State

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team opens its 2002 spring season on Saturday (March 16) when the Cavaliers host San Diego State University at the Rivanna Reservoir. The regatta is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Cavaliers finished seventh in the team competition at the 2001 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships. The Virginia rowers have finished in the top seven at each of the five NCAA Championships. UVa finished fourth in 1997, third in 1998, second in 1999 and third in 2000.

The Cavaliers won the ACC Championship in both 2000 and 2001.
