UVa Softball Doubleheader Against Virginia Tech Rained Out

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia softball team’s doubleheader with Virginia Tech Tuesday (March 19) at The Park has been postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams began the first game, but the contest was called with Virginia Tech leading 3-2 with two outs in the top of the third inning. No makeup date has been set, and if the games are rescheduled, the first game will be replayed from the beginning.

Virginia (23-10) returns to action this weekend when it hosts the Hoo’s Who Tournament Friday through Sunday, March 22-24 at The Park. Drexel, Penn State and Wright State are the other three teams competing in the tournament. All four teams will play one doubleheader per day in the tournament’s round-robin format. The first game each day begins at 9:00 a.m. with the final game scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
