CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia volleyball team will host eight college teams in the annual ‘Hoo Spring Classic Tournament on Saturday, April 6 at UVa’s Slaughter Recreation Center. Each of the nine teams in the tournament will play four matches. The tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. with the last matches of the day scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

In addition to Virginia, the eight other teams competing in the tournament are American, Georgetown, James Madison, Liberty, North Carolina, Penn State, Radford and Virginia Commonwealth. Each match is the best of three games using rally scoring. Games one and two will be to 30 points and deciding third games will be to 15 points.

Virginia opens the tournament with a 10:15 a.m. match against Virginia Commonwealth and then plays Penn State at 11:30 a.m. The entire schedule of first wave matches is below. The second wave of matches begins at 1:30 p.m. and the schedule will be based on the results of the morning matches.
