CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia baseball team’s home game with Wake Forest University on Saturday, April 13, is sold out to the public. A limited number of spaces are being held for UVa students who will be admitted free with valid student identification.

In pre-game ceremonies beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, the playing field at Virginia’s baseball stadium will be dedicated Davenport Field. The University’s Board of Visitors voted on April 5 to name the field in honor of the late Thomas Edward “Ted” Davenport, a former captain of the Cavalier baseball team who oversaw fund raising for athletics scholarships at Virginia for 30 years.

UVa’s ACC championship baseball teams of 1972 and 1996 will also be recognized before the game.

Tickets are still available for Virginia’s home baseball games with Wake Forest on Friday (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday (1:00 p.m.). Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for youth 18 and under and senior citizens 60 and older.

For additional information, please call the Virginia athletic ticket office at 1-800-542-8821 or 434/924-8821. The athletic ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
