Blacksburg, Va. – The UVa Men’s Tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Virginia Tech on Thursday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 11-10 overall on the season.

Jason Romesburg defeated Stephane Rod at No. 3 singles for his team-leading 20th win of the season. He is 8-2 this season competing at No. 3 singles. Gregg Alpert moved up to compete at No. 5 singles and defeated Andreas Lauland, 7-5, 6-2. Alpert is 12-12 on the season.

In doubles, Alpert teamed with Stephen Nolen to defeat Davor Dupljak and Michel Kurz, 8-2. Alpert and Nolen are a perfect 4-0 this season, and have won in the last three consecutive matches.

The Cavaliers conclude their regular season this Sunday, as they host North Carolina at 1 p.m. at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center.
