CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia softball team will host Villanova and Atlantic Coast Conference rival North Carolina and Saturday (April 13) and Sunday (April 14), respectively, at The Park. Saturday’s doubleheader with Villanova is scheduled to begin at 12 noon, while the doubleheader against North Carolina commences at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Cavaliers enter the weekend riding a 30-game home winning streak.

The Cavaliers have won their last four games and enter the weekend with a 37-14 overall record and a 0-2 mark in the ACC. Villanova stands at 28-6 on the season and has won its last eight games. North Carolina is 27-21 in 2002 and 0-2 in the ACC. UVa defeated North Carolina 4-3 in the Tar Heel Invitational last Saturday (April 6).

Virginia is 12-0 at home this season and has won 30 consecutive games at The Park. UVa was a perfect 18-0 at home in 2001. The Cavaliers’ last home loss was to then 17th-ranked Florida State on May 3, 2000.
