Virginia’s Kiamesha Otey, the ACC Champion in the long jump and an automatic qualifier to the NCAA championships, took fourth in the College Women’s Long Jump Championship at the Penn Relays Carnival today with her leap of 5.79m (19′ 0″). Her teammate Eliese Mitchell, the reigning ACC Champion in the discus throw, took sixth in the hammer throw in Philadelphia with her throw of 54.04m (177′ 3′). Mitchell also competed in the discus throw, posting a mark of 42.98m (141′ 0″).

Virginia teammate Inhar Chong also competed in both throwing events, as Chong threw 45.43m (149′ 0″) in the hammer and 43.27m (141′ 11″) in the discus. Otey, along with Kim Turko, Caroline Harvey, and Naccole Guinn, also ran the 4×100 m relay and finished in a time of 48.32.

The Penn Relays will continue all weekend.
