CHARLOTTESVILLE – A 2002-03 University of Virginia men’s basketball schedule featuring 14 home games and participation in the Maui Invitational Tournament has been released by the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Virginia opens its 2002-03 season with a home game against Long Island University (Nov. 22) before traveling to the Maui Invitational (Nov. 25-27). Other teams participating in the Maui Invitational include Arizona State University, Chaminade University, Gonzaga University, Indiana University, the University of Kentucky, the University of Massachusetts and the University of Utah. UVa plays eight games against ACC opponents at home and also faces non-conference opponents East Tennessee State University, Gardner-Webb University, Georgetown University, Liberty University and Wofford College at University Hall.

The Cavaliers’ road schedule features games with Virginia’s eight ACC rivals, the Maui Invitational, a game at Michigan State University in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and games at Virginia Tech, Rutgers University and Ohio University.

The 50th annual ACC Tournament is scheduled for March 13-16 in Greensboro, N.C.
