Virginia Finishes Third in Lou Onesty Race

Virginia men’s and women’s cross-country teams both placed third overall in the Lou Onesty Cross Country Invitational. The men’s team was led by Ryan Neuhart who finished 8th with a time of 24:59.0. He was followed by Walton Kingsbery who finished 11th with a time of 25:13.4 and Tom Ellis who finished 14th with a time of 25:15.0. Dawn Cleary led the women’s team in the 5000m with a time of 17:55.9 and a 4th place finish. She was followed by Kara Scanlin who ran 18:05.0 in her first collegiate performance, and Jane Maxwell who ran 18:06.5. Duke placed first in both the men’s and women’s races and William and Mary finished second.
For the women’s teams, three of the eleven teams were ranked. Duke, Virginia, and James Madison were ranked 11th, 16th, and 29th respectively. Out of the 11 performing men’s teams, two were ranked: William & Mary at 16th and Duke at 20th.
Next Saturday, September 21st, the Virginia Cavaliers will run at William and Mary.
