Women's Tennis Continues Success at Virginia Tech Invitational

BLACKSBURG, VA – The Virginia women’s tennis team continued their strong play at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Saturday. The three day event, the first action this year for the Cavaliers will conclude on Sunday.

In singles play, the Cavaliers had all four semifinalists in the Maroon draw. Fourth years Henriette Williams and Jen Tuchband both advanced to Sunday’s final. The duo, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the draw, are both ranked in the top 100 nationally. In the Orange singles draw, first year Lauren Bruch advanced to Sunday’s final where she will meet Zdenka Videnova of Virginia Tech.

In doubles action, the Cavaliers continued their success in the maroon draw as the No. 1 seeded team of Tuchband and Williams advanced to the final. In the orange draw, both finalists are Cavalier teams and top seeded Bruch and Lori Stern will meet Kristen James and Kyle Montgomery.

The finals of the Virginia Tech Invitational are set for Sunday morning in Blacksburg.
