The University of Virginia field hockey team fell 11-0 this afternoon at fourth-ranked Old Dominion. The Monarchs had a slim 2-0 lead at the break as the Virginia defense allowed only seven shots and six short corners while the Hoos forced a short corner of their own and Emily White (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) made two saves.

In the second half, the Monarchs took 23 shots, connecting on nine of them to take the 11-0 lead. Virginia’s Juli Bojanic (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Sarah Miller (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) both made defensive saves for the Cavaliers. Logan Carr (Williamsburg, Va./Walshingham Academy) came into the game at the 57:48 minute mark and made two saves while allowing four goals in her first action of 2002.

Virginia returns to action on Wednesday, October 2, as they host the Highlanders of Radford at 7:00 pm.
