BLACKSBURG, VA – The Virginia women’s tennis team completed a successful first event of the year as they won every flight title in singles and doubles at the Virginia Tech Invitational.

In singles play, the final of the Maroon draw, the match between the top two seeds, Virginia’s Henriette Williams and Jen Tuchband was not played. In the Orange draw final, first year Lauren Bruch defeated Zdenka Videnova of Virginia Tech for the title.

In doubles, the top seeded team of Tuchband and Williams topped the Virginia Tech duo of Lowdermilk and Stubbs for the crown. In a match between two Virginia teams in the final of the Orange Doubles draw, the team of Kristen James and Kyle Montgomery defeated Bruch and Lori Stern for the title.

The Cavaliers will be in action again next weekend as they play at the Wake Forest Invitational.
