CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia wrestling team will return to action on Saturday, November 23rd when the Cavaliers travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to compete in the 2002 Body Bar Invitational at Cornell University. The event will take place at Newman Arena in Bartels Hall and is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM. The tournament finals are tentatively scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.

A total of ten teams will compete in the 2002 Body Bar Invitational at Cornell. Three of the schools competing in the event are currently ranked in the Top 25. Edinboro is ranked #14 by The Wrestling Mall and is ranked #15 by W.I.N. Magazine, the host school Cornell is ranked #16 by W.I.N. Magazine and is ranked #17 by The Wrestling Mall and Oregon is ranked #23 by The Wrestling Mall.

UVa has already competed in three events during the 2002-03 season. The Cavaliers sent a group of eight first-year wrestlers to Lexington, Va. on November 3rd to compete in the 2002 Keydet Invitational at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Virginia just recently competed at the 2002 West Virginia Open on November 16th and sent 20 wrestlers to Morgantown, W.V. There were no teams scores in both events. The Cavaliers also competed in UVa’s annual Orange and Blue Exhibition on November 9th in Charlottesville. Virginia’s Orange team posted a 16-7 victory over the Blue squad in the event.
